AW Events was established in 1994. The company’s original core business was manufacturing angels in soft pastel colours. Working from a garage, their niche market soon boomed.

The company soon gained a reputation for unique room and table décor, with a distinct focus on weddings. As a result of their increasing success, AW Events began to expand, particularly within the corporate events arena, with clients requesting more extensive, complex event decor, with a particular demand for event management.

With the event decor market remaining a strong focus of the business, our reputation began to attract the attention of a number of prestigious national and international clients.

Today, AW Events’ head office is located on Kragga Kamma Drive in Port Elizabeth, and has a staff complement of 45 people.

As part of an empowerment initiative, Isimangaliso Hiring Services was established in 2012, in which long serving employees of AW Events were given shares in the company. The business is the holding company for Isimangaliso Hiring Services, RNF Imports & Exports, as well as for The Venue – a unique wedding & function venue. In 2014 Angelic Wonders opened a branch in Cape Town, with future expansion, to Johannesburg, earmarked for 2017.
